“We believe a run can change a day, a life, the world.” This is the running shoe brand, Brooks’, purpose. According to their own website, Brooks has been producing and selling shoes since the early 1900s. Although all their shoes weren’t for running, Brooks has been in the shoe game for about a century! With their purpose and history in mind, it’s safe to say that Brooks cares about the running experience of their customers.

Even though Brooks is a titan in the running shoe business, they do have some strong competitors. One of them is Nike. Nike’s products range from running shoes to casual t-shirts. Nike also sells merchandise that caters to other sports like football and basketball. Brooks, however, focuses its products only on the sport of running which is apparent in their “Run happy,” slogan.

With what Brooks sells, it is no surprise that the employees run too. This habit incentivizes Brooks employees to make quality products because they run in their shoes too. On the purpose page of their website, Brooks says, “Put simply, we make the best running gear on the planet because we want to go running in it.” This statement tells me that Brooks has a lot of confidence in their product which can make consumers (me) confident in their product.

After analyzing the Brooks brand, their organizational values are clear. Running enjoyment, quality in their product, and customer satisfaction, and motivation are all key values of Brooks running organization. Their most recent promotional video highlights all of these values in one minute!
