Press Release Samples
I created these two simulated press releases to display my PR writing skills. Both samples are for real organizations and businesses. The first is for Safe Kids World Wide and the other is for the Ice Event Center. These press releases were completed between October and December 2022.
InDesign Newsletter Sample
This simulated newsletter was completed after learning how to use Adobe InDesign. This sample contains information and images from the video game company Square Enix. From this project, I learned that Adobe InDesign is a robust program that offers many options regarding visual creativity. This newsletter was completed in December 2022.
Continuous Process Improvement Event
This continuous process improvement project is what got me my Lean Six Sigma green belt certification. In my military healthcare career, I was charged with providing process efficiency in COVID-19 operations in a military treatment facility. The Lean Six Sigma training that I had helped my efforts result in new clinics and processes. This project taught me how important it is to generate a sense of buy-in from the people who execute a plan. This project was completed in February 2021.
InDesign Social Media Cover Photo Samples
This project was a part of a larger one to practice building digital media content for different audiences. The cover photos were made using InDesign's layering features. From this project, I learned that research drives the art and the art is the message that can cause action. This project was done in November 2022.
PR Research/Campaign Plan Book
This plan book was the four-month culmination of PR research and strategy for the Norman, Oklahoma Police Department. The completion of the plan book was a team effort with me performing as the reputation and crisis lead. The design work was done in Canva and the content was written using Microsoft Word and Google Sheets. This project taught me how important it is to know the strengths of one's teammates. The book was completed in May 2023.
OrangeTheory Fitness Crisis Plan Book
To demonstrate the concepts of crisis communication, the group that I was a part of created a crisis plan book for the gym business, OrangeTheory Fitness. For this project, they were a simulated client. Instead of adhering to the work certain positions would do, this group distributed work as even as we could to create a sense of fairness. The book was written and designed in Canva and the it was completed in May 2023.
